 OF THE UNKNOWN GROWING CHAMPIONS

Guyana, our neighbor to the north, specifically with Roraima, 800,000 inhabitants, 214,000 km2, has GDP growth this year of 19%. Oil, foreign investments.

Guaiana is not alone in this championship. Ireland, with investments from multinationals, will grow 12.5%. Vietnam, Ethiopia, India, Rwanda, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan grow between 5.5 and 7.5%. Bangladesh, which in the 1980s was one of the poorest countries in the world, exported 35 million USD of clothing. Today it exports 40 billion and the average income grew from 600 dollars to 2,600. And this jump happened with the change of the textile industry there, modernization of equipment, cheap credits and labor training. The country is still poor, but less so. And who benefited, besides the famous brands that manufacture there and sell at the price of gold in developed countries? Brazil, the world's largest cotton producer. And millions of young people who play with balls made there.

Each country has its roots or growth bases. One of them is foreign capital. All the champions mentioned receive it, but no one more than Brazil. The difference is that in these countries foreign capital is destined for development. All of them make reforms of the economic system, less bureaucracy, less regulation, inflation and corruption control, better use and growth of the domestic market and above all legal stability. Well, it may be that not everything is as brilliant as described, but it must be much better than in Latin America, where, in addition to Guyana, growth does not even reach the feet of the countries mentioned. And in Europe, in addition to Ireland, only Poland will have a comparable growth with these country countries.

There is no single formula for development. Each country has its own competitive advantages. But, all of them are clear about their national interest, their long-term vision, their political and legal stability. Another important point is that they do not measure their economic development without adding the growth of HDI, human development. And then come investments in education and health. On the other hand, there are important investments in infrastructure, reducing "Brazil" costs. And, last but not least, export raw materials, but increase their local processing. This is the case with nickel in Indonesia. And all of them use technologies from 5G, AI, satellites and everything else, in unlimited extension. It's worth looking at why they get these development rates and others don't.

E, last but not least, exportar matérias primas, mas aumentar o processamento local delas.

País reduzido a Dark Horse e Master.

THEY ARE KILLING OUR HOPE OF LIVING AND WORKING

I have been working with a signed portfolio since I was 16 years old. 66 years ago. Yes, I have been following politics since the first electoral fight of Jânio Quadros versus Marechal Lott and then I saw everything. I'm not the only one who worked all his life, nor who went through everything and everyone in politics, paying his taxes, respecting the authorities and with an unwavering faith that this country has no war and even with enormous efforts to destroy it, as Jânio said, has a future.

And now I only see debate between two potential candidates about the ills, to say the least, that each one did. Country reduced to Dark Horse and Master. And everyone around them. A country so rich with its people, not to mention other riches, ends up at the bottom of an infernal pot reduced to all this, that is, to zero. I think of people with minimum wages, millions turning around with bills to pay, without health and schools working, living overnight, counting pennies when the billions go through dark paths.

What do these pompous names with ministerial titles and their fights between them say to simple people? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. You have to feed your family, dress your children, pay the bills and protect yourself from bandits of all heights and lowness. And the ministries in vogue and toga, do you know what this is? Have you already paid any bills and stood in line for SUS? Have you seen what schools are like and how drug traffickers recruit young people? Did you take the bus or subway? Did you have the electricity cut off for lack of payment and the sewer open passing through the door? In summary, did you smell anything from the real life of 99% of Brazilians in addition to whiskey and cigars?

If any of these characters worked in real life, what I doubt, it must be to know what it's like to get up early, take a bus or train, work all day for real. And businessman? Having responsibility for the lives of our employees, being pressured by all kinds of inspectors, rights and unrights, interest in the heights, unstable market. Do you even know what our life is that you are playing with years on end?

I, and I believe I'm not alone, I want to temporarily go deaf and blind so as not to listen to these extra-Brazilians, not to say extra-terraqueos. I want to see, hear someone who tells me that this country will develop, there will be employment, happiness and everything else. I want to die leaving my children and grandchildren something because I fought all my life and you ruined, killed, soiled and destroyed: the hope to be realized that we can have the opportunity to, nothing more and nothing less, work in peace to build a better life for everyone. And if you are not able to have the dignity to do your part, leave us alone, fight and do your lambanças and the like on the tax island, your own ball of selfish, anti-Brazilians, thieves of our hope and our will to work.

OF VOTING AND APATHY IN ELECTIONS AROUND THE WORLD

Elections actually change our daily lives and, how much a vote really influences the course of governments, is the question that every voter in the democratic world analyzes before voting. According to research by the OECD, an entity that brings together the richest countries on the planet, in 2026, 40% of people trust the government of their country and 68% are convinced that the vote influences the government. IPSOS, a research company, concludes that most people believe in the vote, but are not heard after the election. In 31 countries, 64% think that parties and politicians matter less and less.

Dissatisfaction with democracy is also very significant. It reaches 69% in the US, 62% in Italy and 52% in the United Kingdom. And in Latin America, only 24% of voters trust Congress and 17% trust political parties.

Electoral responses in presidential or parliamentary regimes are different. The participation of the electorate is also different. Of the important countries, only Brazil and Argentina have compulsory voting. And with increasing abstention, rulers are elected with fewer votes. In Israel, the government was elected with 33% of the total voters. In the United Kingdom, with 20%, in the US with 44% and in Brazil, 38%. That is, of the total number of citizens entitled to vote, less than half, on average, elect the government. Abstention is only growing around the world and, with that, the minority elects the government. This is even more pronounced in the case of parliamentary political systems, in which sometimes no one has a majority and has to make a coalition.

In each country, voters' concerns vary greatly depending on the situation of the day. Thus, the cost of living and employment appear very strongly, always. In the case of Israel, the country's security is the main item and the Defense Forces have more confidence than politicians. Argentine voters wanted a break and elected Millei. The Germans change parties, but they don't stop changing. There is a lot of discussion about whether democracy is dying. What is valid to say is that democratic systems adapt to new challenges brought by economic and technological changes that generate social changes and force politicians to follow new demands.

The growth of political leaders with strong personalistic traits did not give the world the certainty that we are being led by the wise. On the other hand, also the great social movements, such as May 68 in France or movements for black rights in the US or even, in 2013, in Brazil, and the movement in India of students, disappeared. We are missing Woodstock, of rebellious youth, worried about their future and wanting to change the world. We are not satisfied with what we have, but we also do not move for changes to happen. Elections are more a struggle for power than for changes and a better world.
